And, Painted at last.
Mike and I painted ALL weekend long. It took us all day Sat and all day Sunday to get this side of the house painted. It's not all shown here, but between the priming, two coats of grey and the trim, it took us a while!

More decorating.....chairs arrive!
Chairs arrived today! Now, everything we've ordered is in place, nice and cozy. We could use a new coffee table and end-tables but that'll have to wait for the new year. We're officially broke! The well has run dry :( We could also use a rug but we were told not to put anything on these hardwoods for 3 to 6 months. You can click on these photos if you want to view them larger. You'll see that we've created a temporary computer desk in the corner with the use of a card table until the corner desk is built. I talked to the cabinet guy this morning (still waiting on him to replace a few doors in the kitchen) about "where are my doors!" and also to decide whether or not to make the desk top granite or wood. Wood would obviously be less expensive but granite would go nicely with the kitchen. It'll probably be another month or so until the desk is built given the snails-pace of the cabinet guy. He does great work, but he is SLOWER than SLOW. We still haven't painted the outside and hope to tackle that project this weekend. The rainy season is on its way! MikeK will be back this weekend to work more on the trim.

Decorating and Trim
We're finally able to start decorating as the trim goes up in each room. It's not done yet, but it's getting much closer! The media cabinet came in this week and we were also able to bring the dining room table in. Mike picks up the couch today! The chairs aren't here yet, but at least we'll have a couch to lounge on. Slowly but surely, it's starting to feel more homey.

Three Amigos Siding Work!
It was too dark out when the "3 amigos" wrapped up the siding job so I waited until today to capture some photos in the light. Bonnie and I painted the entry way last weekend. Mike and I are hoping to tackle the paint job on the back this weekend as long as the weather cooperates. Trim was delivered today so that project will also start this weekend. The carpet guys were here to carpet the stairs but weren't able to finish in one day. They'll be back on Friday. Toodles!

Three AMIGOS!
You gotta wonder, how much work can these three guys get done in a weekend?
Let us show you! Siding, Range, Dishwasher, Hood, Fireplace and Micro! WOW! Bonnie and I kept busy feeding the amigos, wrangling the children, cleaning, laundry, trips to the hardware store, kindergarten orientation, and painting the front entry way. Busy weekend that rolled over to include Monday but so productive! Thanks to all........xoxoxo

First new Appliance
Mike couldn't take it anymore. The fridge was a must! Troy stopped by tonight to help muscle it up the back porch. Luckily, no issues! We turned it on but haven't hooked anything else up. It needs it's handles, water connector, etc. but we should be able to move food in tomorrow. We must admit, we will NOT miss the small trailer fridge and this new Electrolux seems HUGE!
Slippery socks + new floor = surfin'!
The floors are done! After a rough night of sleep in the trailer, we entered the house today to have nice new stained floors. It's amazing how the wood really came alive with color. LOVE IT! Ian and Raea had a blast running and sliding all over in their socks. Ian's poo-poo attitudes about the wood floor were gone in a flash. He continues to tell us that these floors won't be good to wrestle on and he wants the old perfectly good wrestling house back. We'll see how long it takes for him to get tired of surfin' and want his carpet back :) I don't think this wrestling issue is going away anytime soon.

Raea's Prom Stairs...haha
Tile entry and slate hearth was installed this last weekend. We've also been busy staining the rails and skirts for the stairs. Gabriel finished the rounded pearwood treads and risers today. They'll be stained next week! Joey also stopped by with the fabricated steal for the granite on the island. It's amazing how everyone is so willing to help out! We had Anna down here staining last night as well. The granite install was moved up to Thursday. YES! Cabinets in the kitchen should also be done by then. Danny says he finished the wine cabinet and will be over soon to install the steal for the granite, plus missing cabinet doors. We ordered cabinet pull samples off the internet over the weekend to help determine which style looks and functions the best. Jim and Mike, maybe dad also, will tackle the siding on the 28th and 29th. The front door was also set lower since we last posted. It's grand central station tonight but it's so great to see the progress and how close we are to having the space back!
